Heartwarming
I chose this book because I liked very much the first book by this author and wanted to read something light that will at the same time lift my spirit a little. Suzy Kraus has a great talent to create her characters the way that makes them likable, a little funny and a little tragic at the same time. All four protagonists; three ladies of very different ages and their male landlord are kind of misfits; all are lonely and haunted by misfortunes of their past. They are also haunted by a ghost residing in the attic of the house they live in. So in addition to the mysteries of their pasts there is also a mystery of the ghost. It is a lightly written book but it touches on some real life tragedies. It made me laugh, stirred a lot of empathy but it also kept me engaged and eager to find solution to all the mysteries. It was a quite amazing mixture that Suzy Kraus delivered in just perfect proportions. The story left me with a warm, optimistic feeling about people. I believe the main message of the book is about importance of human contacts, even when circumstances for them are not optimal. It is a very uplifting message, especially now. I will definitely read the future books by this author. PS. If you are worrying about dirty language, you will not find it here
