What caught my attention about this product is that it is specially designed for pet owners. I have five – two dogs and three cats. When we have friends and relatives over who have pet allergies, it requires massive cleaning. So I was interested to see how this will work. The product promises to capture pet dander, collect pet hair, and absorb odors with its HEPA filter, fine mesh pre-filter, and deodorized carbon filters. It also states that it captures 99.97% of airborne pollutants, pet dander and allergens. So far, I have no reason to disbelieve these claims. The filter is, indeed, doing what’s promised and it’s easy to install and to clean as well. A few more things about the Winix Air Cleaner: it has a clean, linear design that unobtrusively fits in our family room/kitchen open space and it’s easy to use. Auto mode lets you set one of four speeds – low, medium, high and turbo (we’ve been using medium). The pre-filter is permanent, the carbon filter and true HELPA filter last up to 12 months, and the pet filter is simple to install. I like that the product comes with a clear instruction book (which is missing from so many products these days) that quickly allowed me to get this product up and going (literally, in minutes) and assured me that I was doing it right. So far, I like the Winix Air Cleaner a lot. I think it’s a must-have for those of us with multiple pets – and its operation is so quiet you can barely tell it’s there.
