Glad I purchased this unit.....but
Decided on this steel tube unit over aluminum one since it claims to support 350 lbs. I’m not close to that weight, but it’s better to get a unit that’s stronger than you probably need. But this steel one is 19 lbs. Aluminum model only supports up to 250lbs. But is 12 lbs.
the First item I removed from the box ended up having a broken part. The back rest has two plastic buttons you push in that retracts two prongs allowing you to slide the tube into the walker. One button was broken off...no way to fix it. Called the company and the gal took my info and will either send me a replacement button or a new backrest.
Assembly instructions were ok. Instructions Didn’t tell me what the strap dangling from the pouch is for, but if you pull up, it helps to fold up the walker. Unfortunately, there isn’t a mechanism to lock it in the folded position.... but I’m sure I can figure out something.
Had to slightly adjust the brakes...one was rubbing against the wheel. Once fixed, it was a joy to use. To “set the brake”, you have to push down on the brake handles. To release, pull up.
Seat padding is cushy and comfortable. I’m 5’2” and have the handles set at their lowest position. There are 6 holes to lengthen or shorten them. While seared, my feet touch the floor. The handle grips are textured hard plastic with finger grooves and a thumb rest for support. The seat lifts up exposing the very roomy nylon storage pouch.
I suggest from time to time you check all knobs and bolts to be sure they are still snug and tight. For the price, you can’t beat it.
************************************************ UPDATE************************************************************
As I mentioned, one of the buttons that are attached to the backrest was broken in the box. I called the number on the yellow paper insert and spoke with the representative that same day. She Couldn't have been nicer. Took my info and gave me a "complaint" number. That same day I got an email from their Technical Support Dept wanting a description and send a photo if at all possible. I explained and send a photo of the damaged part. Received another email that afternoon saying they're sending a replacement backrest. I received it via FedEx today...........just 2 days after I called to report the damage. Now that's great customer service and follow through by Medline!!
