I got this because I had an issue with an older computer (still new enough to be usb 3.0) where I could no longer use the built in CD Drive (long story). So rather than going out and getting a newer machine and going through a whole build, I purchased this. Overall happy with the purchase. I use it to mainly digitize CD/DVD and it worked without any issues. It is light weight and compact. For my use, it would be nice of the cord was a bit longer, but that would mess up the portability factor. I am not sure if long term the cord will be an issue but for 20+ bucks, you really can't beat it. In a time where physical media is phasing out it is hard to even find machines that have DVD players built in. Overall happy with purchase, shipped fast and no issues. Can't really ask for more than that!
