I think with 10,000 reviews you get the idea; this is a very well designed product. I’ve tried FM transmitters in the past and had no luck with them, and I was sceptical things would be better now since the core technology (local area FM transmission) is the same as ever. However, my fears were misplaced. FM transmission with this device is crystal clear, even on a crowded FM dial. Setup - connecting the device to the car through an FM channel and then connecting the device to my phone through Bluetooth - could not have been easier. Every Bluetooth pairing should be so simple. The device connects immediately when I turn the car on. And because my car cuts power to the cigarette lighter when the ignition is off, the lack of a power switch is not a problem. The device is well made and attractive, with quality plastic and a user friendly interface. The shortcomings are few. I wish the “head” swivelled around the arm, because it’s very difficult to find a good way to position the device in my car (an old Mercedes A class). I imagine in most cars there will be no problem here. I also wish there were two passthrough USB outlets. The inclusion of one is nice, and it’s doubly nice to find it’s a 2.1 amp outlet. And granted, it would be hard to find room for a second USB outlet. However, this leaves my wife without a place to plug in her phone on shared trips. These minor concerns aside, this product greatly exceeds my expectations for a $19 product. It installed in two minutes and allows me to enjoy my music and podcasts through an old stereo. I’ve experienced minimal to no static so the experience is nearly as good as having built in Bluetooth functionality for perhaps 10 percent of the cost of an audio system upgrade. One final comment: the display always indicates both the Bluetooth connection name and the name of the device it’s connected to. This is another thoughtful touch that makes using the device nearly as seamless as a built-in Bluetooth audio system.
