Ridiculously boring build. :)
What a ridiculously boring build! How dare they give me all the hardware I need. And why did they have to put the pieces in individually labeled bags? That ruins all the fun of guessing which screw to use. And what's with the spares?! My parts bin is going to get angry and jealous of the new (properly labeled) inhabitants - every screw, washer, and nut has a spare! Preposterous.
Additionally, they're contributing to the decline of literacy with their clear and concise 12-step graphical instructions. It must be a plot to ruin reading comprehension in this country!
And the tools they included! The nerve of them, including everything I'd need to build this printer right inside the box! Don't they know that hardware stores are suffering? Are they trying to keep me from buying extra tools? Why do they hate capitalism and shopping?
Clearly I'm being sarcastic; it was an easy and quick build.
As has been noted elsewhere, the sample filament is very short. It would have been nice to have a small model included with enough filament to print it, but that's a tiny issue. Mechanically, a couple of the T-nuts were a little bit snug and required a bit of percussive maintenance to fit into their channel. Additionally the base seemed to be a little bit twisted/un-level but that was trivially fixed by placing the feet on a flat countertop and loosening the base screws just a bit to level everything.
Will update my rating after I actually print something.
Edit: over 3 years since getting this printer and I'm still printing useful and entertaining things. Think of it a little bit like a car - you're going to have to do a bit of maintenance (keeping the belts tight, replacing the extruder nozzle after you crash into the print bed, greasing the Z-screw, cleaning the X and Y rails) - but if you take care of it it'll probably last you for years. I'm keeping this at 4 stars because it's very much a hobbyist/enthusiast machine, not push-here-dummy.
