Bentonite Clay & Bonded Lead are Harmless
Let’s investigate this claim of lead, shall we? Unless you’re a chemist (I’m not), no one knows what bonded lead is. Google it. Be informed about what you’re consuming. It occurs naturally in bentonite clay. Bonded lead—which isn’t the same as the unbonded lead in very old lead paint—passes through your body harmlessly, because it’s bonded. It’s the same lead that occurs in grocery store vegetables, like brussel sprouts, which have 15x the lead this toothpaste does. Because vegetables, like bentonite clay, come from the earth, which contains lead. So do your research. Why would this toothpaste knowingly contain (and label) toxic lead? That makes no sense. Think about it. Now for the actual review. The taste is...okay. Salty minerals, like a minty Vegemite. It needs more mint, for sure. But go light on how much you use, because the flavor can be overpowering. I use a tiny amount, like a few grains of kosher salt. I dab my brush right into the jar. I really appreciate the sustainability of this product. I like how natural the toothpaste is, and how the jar is recyclable and reusable. Except for the lid—plastic lids aren’t recyclable where I live. If the lid were metal this would be totally recyclable.
