I had a little fountain, similar to this in my birdbath last year. And, it lasted a whole year. But, the freeze this past winter finally took it out. :( This one is a little different. The 2.5W motor does a great job of pumping water through the fountain. Too good, in fact. The spray from every head was so high that the water was blowing out of the birdbath. So, I just used the straight pipe, no sprinkler. Another difference is that this one has no battery. The fountain depends in direct sunlight to function. If it's cloudy, the fountain just spurts every other second. If it's in the shade, it will stop completely. I stood where my shadow was cast over the fountain and it stopped immediately. So, just make sure you put your birdbath where it will get full sun as much as possible. Because it floats, you will need to find some way to stabilize it in the center of the birdbath. Put three rocks around it, or something. Otherwise, it will float to the edge and spray water outside. For $15, I think that this Aisitin birdbath fountain is a good deal. Five stars.
