Light years better than prior models--and those were all good!
Definitely a wow! We've used Litter Robots for years; I'm definitely a fan. We currently have three cats using this new one. What we've seen so far:
1. The thing I am daily thankful is the light that tells you the drawer is full!! A huge advantage by itself over prior models.
2. The long cat who couldn't turn around in the old one (and was therefore dropping 'gifts' out the front of the old one) jumped right in, turned around, and--I believe--was grinning. you can see him in the photo; he now has plenty of room.
3. All three cats jumped in, used it, and never went back to the old one--no problems with acceptance.
4. Note we're in our late 60s, and I found the old one very difficult to see into easily. I thought this was because it was so low (see more on this later), but it turns out it had a lot to do with the very small door. The visibility into this one is superb when on the floor.
5. I can actually read the print around the buttons and lights--could not do on the other one, partly because of very small print, but also because it was so far away, near the floor. icons and buttons on this one are fabulous.
OK - now why we have it on our 'trial' pedestal. Again, based on the old one and my age, I found emptying the drawer to be a tremendous hassle, particularly if any cleaning needed to be done. Half the time the glasses I needed to see what was going on fell into the drawer ;). Based on that, I figured out a way to see if we could just elevate the Litter Robot, ordered the stairs (Etsy) and borrowed a washer-dryer pedestal we are using later for the purpose intended, and got it all ready for this new Litter Robot. Turns out the new design is so much better, I *might* not have needed to do all that...but I can't tell you how absolutely fabulous it is to have this thing 16" off the ground. The whole set-up, of course, intrigued the cats immediately--all three had to jump up and in and out, take swipes at each other, etc. Like a cat tree potty--how could a cat not like it? ;)
Assuming this continues to work out, we'll have a carpenter-type build a permanent pedestal and stay the course! This is SO much easier to handle for cleaning... and definitely, absolutely love this latest Litter Robot!
