Superb place to begin your Bonsai hobby!
I love growing plants. So I finally decided it was time to try my hand with some Bonsai. Needed a good start though.
This right here will be your good start. The package comes with everything you will need for the first few weeks at minimum. Biodegradable pots to germinate your soon to be dwarfed trees. Soil platters that will expand to the correct amount for each pot. And a nice amount of seeds, 4 different varieties, to get your new hobby on.
I'm still in the first month of growing said seeds, so I haven't the chance to use the clippers that came with the package. They look sharp. I refuse to sacrifice a finger to give a review on the ability of these clippers. You will have to wait a while, and I will update this review then.
A booklet comes with this set, showing your soon to be mini-trees. I really like the fact that the trees are from various different areas. Nordic Spruces, a common Christmas Tree. The colorful Flame Tree that is found in Madagascar. The Black Poui, a South American Tree with blue flowers, and the Rocky Mountain Bristlecone Pine.
The seller, Planter's Choice, follows up with your purchase with e-mails. They are encouraging of your new found hobby, and strive to make sure you are pleased with your results. They also gave me a tip I should've thought of in growing my trees, as I love to cook. Use a toothpick as you water your plants. The day after watering, if the toothpick comes back changed from the soil, you have enough moisture for your seeds to germinate. I have to admit, I have been growing some succulents as of late, and this advice put me back on the right track. These are trees, after all. Different care is needed, and the seller is quick to respond and help. Huge props to these guys for that.
Sure, you can use local tree seeds to try your hand at Bonsai. But here you will find a great variety, and superb help, in your new found hobby. I highly recommend this if you are looking to start at Bonsai.
Added a pic of my Rocky Mountain Pine Cones that are starting to grow. Did I mention it makes a great subject for your Photography hobby also?
