This review contains a BIG read, packed with hefty of good-to-know User Information, from a person that bought THIS laptop! :)
I paid $710 for this laptop, after shipping and handling with two-day shipping. I needed a laptop for college and this laptop stood out for me. I have a custom built desktop computer that I using for gaming, this laptop exceeds basic laptops in the specs and quality. It was also a perfect fit for me. Pros: It's equipped with an Intel i7 2.0GHz Processor giving the user enough processing power to multitask even the most power consumption programs such as Sony Vegas and Adobe Photoshop. 8GB of RAM gives you enough power to stop lag from occurring as often as you would find with other laptops that contain only 4-6GB of RAM. The 1TB HDD gives the user enough space to store files and programs, maybe even some games, photos, and other personal items. The quality of it's design is beautiful, soft touch keyboard with easy keystrokes makes it fast for typing and impressive to look at. This laptop looks like a good buy right out of the box. This laptop features a faulty switch, the switch can be used to instant restart your PC if your having issues with it. Windows 8.1 contains plenty of apps to check mail, search up files, and multitask. Cons: I ordered this laptop from Circuit City not Lenovo. This made me a bit skeptical. I ordered, Two-Day Shipping so I would have it just in time for college. Although I received mine within two days after ordering I did have some issues with Amazon listing my order receiving date as a few days late. The box I received looked very unprofessional. A way-too-big box equipped with air bubble shipping. Very thrown together duct-taping job. Seemed as if this package was being rushed. Not the typical fashion you would see if this item was, "Shipped and Sold by Amazon" I made sure the laptop itself was okay, because the box inside the shipping box was moving around when I picked it up for the very first time. I opened up the box for my laptop and everything seemed to check out just fine, cables, manuals/instructions, stickers, and correct packing materials were an in tack. (CHECK YOUR BOX AND TAKE PICTURES OF ANYTHING THAT LOOKS LIKE IT MIGHT CONTAIN DAMAGES, THAT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK TO SEE IF YOUR TECHNOLOGY IS DAMAGED.) Lenovo added their personal touch, they pre-install some of their apps, and it quite annoying this is what is expected when you buy a pre-built computer from any company though. You can install it very easily especially on Windows 8.1 which makes downloading and uninstalling programs an easy because it deletes ALL files related to the program you want to uninstall, say goodbye to hidden files! One hardware issue I have with this laptop is the screen brightness, while in normal lightened rooms, it seems that this laptop needs its brightness all the way up to see much of anything. If you plan on using this laptop outside or directly towards sunlight, good luck. Windows 8.1, because I also know some of people don't prefer it... User Preferences: Gamer: If you want to play games on this laptop, you might want to go with an Intel i5 Processor, Intel i7 Processors have more power but aren't built for gaming. This laptop could probably still play basic games, but it will most likely not be able to handle anything more than "Medium Settings" for games such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4, ARMA III, DayZ. Student/Business: This is a great laptop for you because you will be able to run business applications with ease, no more lag and delaying when working on projects and documents. Tech: You guys know computer technology, I don't fully recommend this laptop for you, knowing your into tech and know tech, you might not be so impressed. This laptop costs around the same price for a GTX 780 Ti and doesn't give you nearly the same power as a custom rig. But, this laptop has enough power to run like a custom built PC that would run you around $600-$850. Try it, you have a 30-day limit to return anyways. I give this Laptop a 4.0/5.0 Stars because this laptop was a perfect fit for "me" it has the juice to get the job done and has a nice style to it, with an affordable price. The quality of packaging was not met, but it wasn't enough to damage my product and so that's okay with me.
