Excellent printer
Super nice printer and I gave it 4 stars because of a few minor things that would make a difference in my mind. If I could, I'd give it a 4.5 star review.
Pros:
Fairly easy & seamless setup
Wireless - it can literally sit anywhere and I don't have to worry about having a long enough USB cable.
Printer had no trouble connecting to my WiFi.
The touch screen makes it really easy to enter the WiFi password. (I have another printer that isn't touch, & it's very difficult.)
Sleek design with one button (power), and everything else takes place through the touch screen LCD.
Prints VERY fast - fastest of any inkjet I have had over the last 10 years, and I've had a bunch.
Scanning gives you the option of saving it as a PDF to any of the computers you have attached,
Once completed, a window pops up with the scan PDF highlighted in the documents directory, so you don't need to look for it.
You can also scan directly to an e-mail and it will send directly from the printer - very cool.
Love using the HP remote windows app to control the product remotely for scanning, etc.
Love that I can crop my scan through the remote app before e-mailing or saving.
Cons (or slightly negative elements):
The scanner lid only allows for thin documents/books before the lid has trouble closing.
The documentation is a bit strange - there could be more info on the single sheet of instructions.
During the setup, when you get the message to visit the URL to set up the HP connected account, the message disappears after a minute or two. I had no idea what the URL was until I rediscovered it on the single sheet that has no written instructions.
The user had better have nimble, thin fingers, because the keypad for entering things like e-mail addresses, etc., on the touchscreen LCD has pretty small letters, and it is easy to hit the wrong letter.
Could definitely do a better job here letting people know which cartridge goes where. Admittedly there are only two, but bigger graphics inside the printer will probably eliminate unnecessary communications to the technical support resources.
Once HP Connect is set up, I discovered that the online services includes a print history, where everything you have printed for the last 30 days is kept. I assume this is online somewhere. There very well could have been something about that in the terms and conditions, etc., somewhere - I do not recall - but that seems more invasive than helpful in the real world.
I don't have any photographs ready to print right now, but I will assume it looks brilliant because it's HP, and if that is not the case, I will update this review detailing my findings.
In summary - it's an easy printer to set up, prints very quickly, does a great job of remote scanning, and I know I am going to enjoy using this product for some time.
