We really debated about spending the money on this, but are so glad we did. We have a 13 yr. old outdoor cat that refuses to live inside. This insulated cat tube was the perfect answer for her. We keep it right by our back door along with a feeding station that we created out of a plastic container set on its side and set directly on top of it. Makes it easy for us to feed her without bending. We filled the inside of the tube with fresh straw and as you can see from the photo, she made herself a nice little nest in there. I open it periodically to check for any insects or other issues, but have found none. The little plastic door flap piece sometimes comes off, but that's about the only issue we've had. You can turn the handles to be open during warm weather for ventilation, and closed in winter for a nice, tight warm house. Please note that if you have an outdoor cat, straw is the best bedding to use for warmth. Although it might seem like blankets and other fabrics would be more comfortable, the problem is they retain moisture. Straw keeps your kitty dry and warm! I take the time to review purchases because I know that I rely on them myself and I like to try to help others make informed decisions.
