Not bad for a 3 day survival ration
I got these to quality test and taste test for an emergancy kit I'm putting together myself. The quality is pretty good so far. The package came sealed and had no holes or openings. It deffanily looks watter proof to. They are also very recently manufactured to. Mine was made in March 2015 (last month) The dates are easy to read which I like unlike the confusing date codes on MRE's. It uses a simple date format like 3/15 with the expiration date right under neath the manufacture date that reads 3/20 or March 2020 which indicate it's five year shelf life. It looks like one bar (3 cubes) is supposed to last you one day. One cube has 400 calories equaling 1,200 calories per bar. They also got lots of vitamins & minerals. The only issue I see with the bars themself is the lack of fiber (2 grams per cube or 6 grams in a days ration) I think they would make a good edition to my survival kit and they don't taste that bad ether. They got somewhat of a lemony shugar cookie taste & texture but that tastes less sweet than a shugar cookie. The lemony taste is barley noticable when you first bite into it. It also doesn't make me thirsty all that much which is a good thing for survival food. The weight isn't to heavy. It's only a few ounces lighter than MRE's making them easier to carry. They are also half the size of MRE's. The only thing I realy wish they would include is a way to re seal the bag like with a zip lock or something making it more ideal for 3 or more days. I might have to re seal it in a zip lock bag to prevent it from being exposed to long. All in all they are decent survival rations and they are at a great price. Only payed close to $10 even with tax for one individual 3 day ration. I'll also be comparing this to the SOS and dartex survival rations which some say are very similar but with a different taste. I added some pictures to show actual size using a penny for size comparison. They are actualy a pretty good size for the money. I'll be buying these again.
