I purchased this when I lost my eyebrows during chemo therapy. I couldn't stand the feel of the wax, so I just tried brushing on the lighter shade without any wax. It has stayed on fine without wax and my ball cap did not rub it or wipe it off. Very natural looking if you are blond or gray. The dark color was too dark for me. Sooo much better than any of the pencils I purchased for the same purpose. I've thrown them away!
