This brush is exactly what the dentist ordered. I've been told by my dentists that I brush too hard and that my gum line has receded as a result. This toothbrush helps mitigate this problem as all I now have to do is simply let it spin and brush for me. It is also equipped with a pressure sensor which will stop the brush if too much pressure is being exerted against the gums. My favorite part is that it is rechargeable and holds the charge about a week with regular use. I haven't had difficulty maintaining the cleanliness of the brush as I remove the brush head and rinse thoroughly and dry the handle after each use. The light in the handle will blink red when the brush needs to be recharged.
My least favorite parts are the built-in timers that vibrates the handle every 30 seconds to let you know when to change areas of your mouth and every 2 minutes (dentist recommended time). This can become annoying as there is a brief pause in the spinning action of the brush when these intervals occur. It's a bit silly that you'd have to be reminded to change spots of your mouth especially since brushing is an almost unconscious activity, but it may appeal to some. There is also quite a bit of extension cord that I wish could be tucked into the base, but is otherwise not really more than a cosmetic complaint. The brush heads themselves don't appear to last a long time, but I suppose that's just the consequence of the spinning action of the brush. I can foresee a decent amount of spare brush heads being purchased in my near future.
PROS:
- Rechargeable (lasts about 7 days with regular use)
- Spins (doesn't just vibrate)
- Comes with base (which is also the charger)
-Pressure sensitive (prevents gum damage)
CONS:
- 30 second/2 minute interval timer can be annoying (at least for me)
- Long extension cable that cannot be tucked into the base (cosmetic complaint that may be beneficial for some who have far outlets)
- Brush heads will be spent fairly quickly due to the spinning action of brush
The pictures I've provided include chapstick and a quarter for scale.
