I tested out all the popular electric litter boxes and this one wins by a landslide! Here is how they measure up. Litter-Robot: The first one we purchased was amazing until it burned out 10 years later. We purchased the new "high tech" model and it is horrible. It is nowhere near the quality of the first machine they came out with and I'm very sad the new models don't hold up to the old model standards. It doesn't sense the cats and things always have be constantly cleaned and tweaked for it to even rotate. Annoying! Petsafe: This was okay, but with 4 cats it was too much work. It has to be scooped every single day and the crystals lasted 2 days with 4 cats. At that point, it stunk up our entire home. Like the worst cat pee smell, I've ever smelled in my life. So maybe if you have one kitty this would work better. Chillx: This didn't last 3 days in our home. It was complete garbage. The litter gets everywhere inside the machine and the urine leaked through into the bottom casing that was so difficult to clean. We ended up with cat urine all over our bathroom floor. Customer service acted like they could care less that I had issues at all. :( Then we have this gem. This thing is so smooth and quiet when it operates. It came with its own litter mat and things actually stay clean! With 4 cats I only have to empty the tray every 4 days (so essentially once a week). This is amazing because I don't want to constantly be thinking about cleaning litter boxes and my kitties get to enjoy a nice clean box each time they step in. The only con to this box is that the entryway is VERY high. I have a 17-year-old cat with cancer that has a hard time using getting up into it. I plan to remedy this by purchasing a short one-step stool and placing it right under the entryway. All in all, you can't go wrong with this box. It looks so stylish that I'm even considering buying a second one for our front room. :)
