We were out for Lunch and had some French Press Coffee. It was great, It had similar taste to my MoccaMaster. The lunch coffee was $8 each.
I like the idea of being able to control all of the variables when making coffee. That way you can have consistent quality. I decided to purchase my own French Press. I read the reviews and quickly discounted the obvious cranks. I got some French roast Coffee at Sam's Club and ground it to Coarse. Followed the Directions and weighed the coffee and measured the water and temp. The coffee was exceptional.
No residual grounds as was found in the restaurant coffee. (not a big deal, but nice to see that the filters work as advertised) I have a Gaggia TS, the Moccamaster and the Cafe Du Chateau. ( I also have a keurig, but we won't even talk about that) They all make a great cup of coffee. Big difference in price. Not much difference in the resultant coffee.
By far the Cafe Du Chateau came with the best warranty and customer service. If you are looking for a French press this is the one you should try.
