Lice Kryptonite - Microscopic Death Video Included
After my child came home with head lice for the first time, the science nerd in me decided to use this opportunity to conduct a science experiment. I hand picked and divided lice into different test subjects. The first group was no treatment, the second group after using Rid shampoo, the third treatment was after using Lice Freee spray. I watched the behavior of each group under a microscope. The no treatment group all died after about 2 days, the Rid shampoo group showed some lethargy with some dying right after, some hours later and some the same time frame as untreated group (I'd say it was about 70% effective with 1 treatment), the Lice Freee group died almost instantly as seen in the microscopic video I included.
My son did not have anymore reoccurrences so I have to assume it killed the nits that remained in his hair. I used the spray on my own hair as a precautionary and people at work complimented me on the smell (it smells just like licorice) and asked what I used, to which I had to come up with something on the spot to avoid fear and panic of my co-workers, so I replied "It's a leave-in children's conditioner."--not untruthful since it was conditioning my hair with kryptonite to kill the otherwise immortal head monsters from claiming my locks as their new world.
About the video: *Viewer discretion warning* May not be suitable for all viewers due to violence. Spoiler alert: actual execution - louse dies. A live active louse is placed on the slide. I place a drop of Lice Freee on the louse and it succumbs to DEATH. You'll want to grab some pop-corn or tissue depending on your comfort level with such things.
I'll finish with a bonus. Shortly after the lice takeover at my homestead, I found a flea on one of my dogs. I needed 1 more to conduct another experiment. After a frantic search I found one and placed each in a canister. I placed one drop of PetArmor flea spray on 1 flea and Lice Freee on the 2nd flea. They both died in less than a minute but the Lice Freee flea had a more "seizure-like" initial reaction. So in short, Lice Freee also works on fleas!
