material is thinner than expected but very dense and surprisingly warm. stitching along edges seems very durable. there is no overpowering smell, just a faint odor that is rather pleasant. color is a very dark navy blue, almost black. very good at keeping the wind away from your body more due to denseness rather than thickness. packs down to a manageable size that will be good for biking/camping trips which is what the main use of this blanket will be. blanket is made up of 80% wool content but I was surprised that the material is not scratchy like the old wool blankets I had in the military. very comfortable for home use but serviceable enough for spring/summer/fall camping trips. overall very satisfied with this purchase.
