Read all the reviews as pretty much everything people say is true. It IS orange. We painted ours, both for weathering and to tone it down. The “instructions” are not good and you should mark each piece. Even with that I managed to get a couple backwards and had to take it apart. Thankfully that was early in the construction. The shelves are a little small. We have two cats and the boy is 16 lbs and loves to stretch out. I replaced a couple of the stock shelves with a full length, reinforced “2nd floor” made from sturdy 3/4” plywood and 1x4 supports. That made the big cat extremely happy and served to make the entire structure more stable. I also modified the shelf design to add larger, corner shelves that are easier for them to navigate. I ran a staple gun around the inside to reinforce the wire caging as some of the stock staples came out during construction. All in all, I like this unit a lot and did not mind making adjustments that I felt made it better. That was certainly easier than building the entire thing from scratch. One month update: the only thing missing from my original review was the reaction of the cats. They LOVE it and will spend hours lounging around, enjoying the fresh air and the sights and sounds of the woods behind our house.
