This iron was recommended to me by another professional
I am a professional quilter. This iron was recommended to me by another professional. Now, I have owned MANY irons. From the top of the line Rowenta to a $14.99 K-Mart special. My favorite iron (a cordless Panasonic) finally died after many, many hours of use and I wasn't crazy about the Shark I had bought but it got the job done however, when my friend recommended this iron I decided to trust him. And am I glad I did. Jerry Granata was spot on. This iron is sturdy without being overly heavy. It GLIDES across the fabric. The controls are simple enough for a child. I am perplexed by the people who say the directions aren't good or that they are "still learning how to use it." It's an iron. You press fabric with it. It isn't brain surgery. My biggest complaints about most irons are: 1) doesn't get hot enough (I press mostly cottons); not an issue here. It heats up FAST, gets nice and hot but doesn't scorch; 2) not enough steam; again, not an issue here. This iron produces a LOT of steam on demand. 3) hangs up on fabric/sticks to fabric; not this iron....it glides like Dorothy Hamill on freshly Zambonied ice. 3) Spits and sputters; in the hours (well over 50) I have used this iron, not a spit, sputter, drip or drop. 4) too light or too heavy; a light iron means you need to provide more pressure; a heavy one is work to pick up and use. This iron is, just like baby bear's bed....JUST RIGHT.
