This top entry box really works! I've thought about buying a cheaper plastic box from the home improvement store and cut out the entrance but I've decided to buy this because the top lid is done with zigzag grooves. It does dramatically reduce the amount of litter on my floor. However, there are a few things to keep in mind. It will only work if your cats step on the lid toward the front to let the litter fall from their paws onto the lid. My cats tried to jump straight out to the side of the box which will bring out more litter than you can imagine. Therefore, I've made a few adjustments to this box and the location it. First, I drilled equally spaced holes all over the lid to allow the litter to fall back down. Second, I've placed the box into a confined spaced where my cats have only one way to enter and exit. The only way to come out is to slowly climb onto the lid and walk toward the front and step down. It will not work if your cats like to jump out and the litter box is in an open space. Overall, I am extremely happy with it after a few adjustments and I plan to get another one soon.
