I had some reservations about this mount, but the reviews seemed fairly positive, and the suction cup windshield mounts my wife and I were using with our Garmin Nüvi 755T's kept falling off our windshields. I figured these had to be better than that, so I ordered two. My wife likes it better because it sits lower, enabling her to see over it better. The lower placement seems to help keep the power cable in place better, too. The biggest concern I had was whether it would really stay put. Well, I was heading home from work the other day when I got rear-ended by a Jeep SUV. No one was hurt, but it was a pretty solid hit. My rear-view mirror got knocked off my windshield, but the Garmin Friction Mount did not move at all. I wasn't too happy with the teen driver who hit me, but I am thrilled with my Garmin Friction Mount. I have not tested a side impact yet, and I have no plans to do so. I will, however, highly recommend this product.
