This is How to Mix Color to Match
I am a realist oil painter so I have to mix paints all the time. A lot of the reviews on this site are talking about how they couldn't match the color of the object they were fixing. Here is an easy way to match. What you need to do is lay a piece of clear plastic down on the object you want to match the color to. Now mix the putty/paint and attempt to get the color as close as possible. Once you have it as close as you can, dab bits of the paint/putty mix onto the plastic over the object with the color you are trying to match. The paint dabs will tell you if something is too bright, to warm, or too cold color-wise. Look at it closely and determine if it needs more warmth (reds, yellows, oranges) or cool hues (blues, greens, blacks). Keep working at it. You will know when you have a perfect match when the color that you lay down on the plastic disappears entirely. The fact that it disappears into the original color means you have a perfect match. At that point you can use the mix.
