Discount Tommy Grain Mill
I read the first customer review and decided that for the money I would try this mill. I just couldnt see spending more on a smaller mill. I didnt buy it from Amazon this time but I did buy it from the same guy on Ebay. He shipped quick and it was packed well. I have never used a hand grinder so I read all I could. Then we set it up outside and decided to try to turn whole corn in to scratch for the chickens. When we first started turning the mill it came out way to fine, like meal, and was hard to turn. So one of us started setting the screws on the front AND the two screws on the plates while the other kept turning slowly to grind. It only took about 3 minutes to get a perfect scratch grain coming out with little to no effort turning the handle. I also pulled every bit of corn thru the grinder and didn't leave any in the hopper. No shaking neccessary! It's heavy built and appears to be well made. Now I can buy bulk organic whole grains and make my own organic chicken feed. No more GMO for my animals! I did not try to put the corn thru two or three times to make meal but I know it will work just from the first attempt to use the mill. Also reading the other review I like the fact you can alter it and hook it up to a drill. I use my blender on my MR. Pea Sheller and love it so I'm sure I will this one too once I have enough grain to grind to make it worth the effort. Guys, don't be fooled by the cheap price. I love this grinder and am so happy I didn't spend more on a mill that might do the same job. If you have trouble with it, get help. If both of us hadn't been working the mill the first time I might have gotten frustrated too. Now I know what to do!
