I set this up today for my elderly Mother who uses two hearing aids. This system is amazing! The pendant speaker phone is very lightweight, simple, and functional. The sound is great and it has a voice command feature that allows her to call any of the four speed dial numbers, not just the two emergency dial buttons. She can also use this function to check missed calls and return any she wishes to, as well as to check her answering machine. This means she can essentially use the pendant for most of her calls so she doesn't need all the handsets I thought she would. She feels safer and more confident having this with her all over the house and yard and she doesn't have to remember to have her cell phone with her, something she often forgot. Set up was quick and intuitive, but there are so many features you'll want to read the manual. It has backup batteries in the base so she can use it even when the power goes out, something that concerned me about the powered phones. All the phones have lights that blink when a call is coming in, but they are smaller and not as bright as I would have hoped. This may be offset by the fact that the volume of the ring can be turned up pretty high. I'm very pleased with this purchase! Update: After several weeks, it's even better than I thought! I had to reprogram the speed dial buttons after a traumatic event where she called 911 by mistake. I've now programmed the two buttons on the pendant to my phone and my brother's phone. She can call 911 by pressing the button on the side and saying out loud "Call speed dial 3". Another function that addresses an issue I was afraid she'd have, when she wants to take a nap she can leave the pendant on but easily set the phone to go directly to voice mail for a set time after which it automatically reverts to the phone. So she doesn't have to remember to take the mute off! I haven't had to rush over to check on her since she got this phone, something I often had to do before since she often couldn't hear her phone ring!!! Not that I minded, but she felt she was a bother when I had to check on her.
