A higher price isn't always the answer
I've tried a few different rotary electric razors over the years and no longer buy into the hype of fancy heads and "floating geometries". This product is the model I will keep replacing cutters on. The last razor I remember well was a Remington R-400 which was pretty good and is now kept as my backup razor at work. I had replaced the Remington with the Philips 1150x (6100) with highly-touted "Dual Precision" heads. These worked for me but not very well and not as good as the Remington for two years. During this time I bought a Philips PQ208 travel razor with "Closecut" heads. That little travel razor is fantastic and I still have it. In time, the Philips 1150x needed a head replacement so I looked at putting that cost towards something with "Closecut" heads like the PQ208. The Philips 2100 has these and my first shave was exactly what I was looking for. The shave is comparable to my PQ208 but with a bulkier motor and a more durable head for daily home use. Note that the Philips 2100 will not run corded. Philips' answer to this is a warning light that flashes when you have five shaves left. This worked extremely well for me with the 1150x so I don't anticipate having to resort to my travel razor or backup unit at work. I know that people rave about high-cost razors but I can't relate to that. Just use whatever works best for you. It may take some trial and error to get there.
