After having some cork "accidents", I wanted one of these type of cork removers. There is nothing more frustrating than having the center of a cork get pulled out of a wine bottle when an older bottle of wine is opened. Sure, it is possible to pull the remainder of the cork out, but you are going to have bits of cork in the wine. This sort of air pressure tool will work on corks just fine and never fails to remove the cork properly. It is not good for plastic corks, according to the instructions and I believe them. The plastic corks are too firm to be able to slide the needle into and trying could cause the needle to break. The needle on this model is well protected so even someone a little klutzy can use this without poking themselves.
