"I fear the worst. Right now Americans are angrier and more divided than I've seen them since the 1960's. What fires this rage is that we've become a post-Constitutional society." It crystallized in my mind in August 2008 when I first heard the venemous rants of Rev. Jeremiah Wright and some of the other radicals surrounding Democratic nominee Barack Obama on a radio talk show. I turned to the young man working next to me and mumbled "These people are planting the seeds of a civil war in this country." Sadly, nothing I have seen or heard during the six years of the Obama administration has changed my mind one iota. Michael Savage has been an outspoken critic of the Obama administration and worries that the American people are dangerously close to the breaking point. He lays out his case in an explosive new book "Stop the Coming Civil War: My Savage Truth". While not as gifted a writer as Mark Levin or Pat Buchanan, Dr. Savage does a workmanlike job of presenting a cornucopia of well-documented evidence to support his contention. Furthermore, Savage insists that our esteemed President knows precisely what he is doing and has precious little regard for the Constitution, due process or the rule of law. The situation we are all living through is unprecedented in the history of our nation. According to Savage, Obama has succeeded in dramatically weakening our military. He has accomplished this by tossing aside top brass who do not agree with his worldview. Furthermore, his steadfast refusal to control the nation's borders has put our nation at risk for terrorism, increased crime and made us much more vulnerable to a whole host of diseases. The Ebola outbreak is only the latest example. This President seems to have very little appetite for the business of actually governing. Rather, he prefers to spend his time promoting his radical agenda and raising funds for the Democratic Party. Meanwhile, there is little doubt that this President has deliberately sought to divide us and clearly has succeeded. According to the author Barack Obama has intentionally and systematically sought to divide the American people by class, religion, race, sexual orientation etc. etc. etc. As a result, Dr. Savage believes that our nation is on the precipice of another civil war. He makes an extremely convincing case. "Stop the Coming Civil War: My Savage Truth" is a clarion call for patriots to stand up and act to help save our nation. Savage makes a number of practical suggestions as to how to go about doing this. Time is very short. The only problem with a book like this is that for the most part he will be preaching to the choir. Liberals will certainly not read this book nor will many low information voters who might be swayed if they did. I have read other books by Michael Savage and have not been particularly impressed. Having said that I found reading "Stop the Coming Civil War" to be time very well spent. Recommended.
