I scoured the internet for about 2 weeks looking for a hose reel that I could install and not have to worry about again. After looking at all the options out there and narrowing everything down to 3 choices (Liberty Navigator, Strongway, and Eley), I chose this hose reel. It's not the "prettiest" option there is, but I can tell you that this is one serious piece of hardware. The Liberty hose reels looked like they'd be the way to go if I wanted something decorative, but everyone said they're hard to crank and this causes the bolts to eventually come loose, they will rust on you, the finish wears pretty quickly, and leaking will become a problem. These were consistent comments throughout their product line (except for the aluminum option, which was only better because it doesn't rust) and I didn't want to pay $75-$100 for something I'd have to replace every year and drill new holes in the brick of my house. I almost went with Strongway because it was cheaper, but decided against this option because it was made out of steel. It seems to be pretty similar to Eley's reel. While the reviews were extremely high for this option, they weren't as high as Eley's and I know at some point I'll scratch the finish and it being steel, there will be rust. After installing this reel, it became apparent why the cost was so high and the reviews praise this product so much. I know it'll last an extremely long time and it met all of my OCD expectations. The cam brake is a great touch to avoid the reel free-spinning when you pull the hose out....... the motion is effortless and without something to slow it down you could pull the entire hose out. You turn the brake off to reel it in and it's smooth like glass. Spend the money and you won't be disappointed. I debated for a while on whether or not buy this reel (it was the most expensive option I came across), but the fact that you won't find a single negative review related to the operation or construction of this product, plus the 10 year warranty, sold me. I'm an extremely anal person and couldn't be happier with this purchase so far.
