Took a minute to figure out but once I did it works flawlessly. Don't bother with the box instructions, just read the reviews and you too can set this up. I compiled all the instructions found in the amazon reviews posted before me and I thank them for the help and want to share what I did to get the receiver to work. I'm using a extra PS4 controller that I had laying around. 1. First things first before you do anything with this device, UPDATE it. You will have issues if you do not. Go to the website and download the update (support(dot)8bitdo(dot)com) (1.14 at post time). When you connect it to your PC, make sure to hold the connect button on the back of the device while plugging it in so the updater will recognize the device. Once you are done updating, you can plug it into the Switch Dock. 2. Use an existing Switch controller to turn on "Pro Controller Wired Communication" in the System Settings 3. Plug adapter into console (Plug it into the usb on the outside bottom of the Dock. Not the inside, this was my mistake) 4. Press the PAIR button the receiver, it will start to flash very quickly 5.Press and HOLD the PS BUTTON + SHARE for a couple of seconds to start syncing the controller. 6. Once the controller pairs with the receiver, the controller LED will become solid Blue when they are successfully paired. 7. Success! Note I did not have to hold the Left D-Pad for my DS4 to connect and everything works as it should. I do hope these instructions help someone else as this device has saved me from having to buy a pro controller.
