I got this for my cat to replace the standard strap harness I had for her when she was a kitten. I went with this one, because it it seemed to be more comfortable and light weight for a cat, and the adjusting parts wouldn't be able to slide around as much and cause the leash to pull her from odd angles. So far it has lived up to all those expectations! My kitty doesn't mind the transition between the two harnesses at all, and this one is easier to slip over her head, making getting it on her a quicker and more pleasant experience. My cat is 8.3 lbs and I got her the XS, which has plenty of extra room adjustable around the middle. I can tighten it to be snug on her, but I can't imagine even a larger cat needing to size up. I think a larger size would be too large at the non adjustable neck hole for any cat. This one works great on though, even on my smaller cat. I use this to let her have some supervised outdoor time, and for when I need to take her for trips to the vet, or to stay with friends for the weekend etc. She has NEVER been able to slide out of it. I'm not confident that she could, but she has been trained in a harness since she was a kitten, so it doesn't distress her at all to have it on, and she has never struggled to get out of it. Overall this is a great, cheap, little harness for a cat that is comparable to the quality you would get from the pet-store generic brand at half the cost!
