Satisfactory item FOR THE PRICE. You get what you pay for.
We decided fairly last minute before Christmas to get a very cheap guitar for our 2-year-old, who is obsessed with musical instruments. Obviously since the item is for a 2yr old we did not want to spend a lot. We read all of the reviews for this item at that time and understood that the strings may be loose/break, the guitar doesn't really tune, and that the guitar would be a random color. Because of this we received just what we expected and we are very satisfied with the purchase. Hubby picked up a $6 pack of acoustic guitar strings before "Santa" presented this gift. With the added guitar strings the sound was much improved and the new strings are significantly more durable. YES I agree with other reviews - the guitar strings it comes with are flimsy and crappy. Just add this: D'Addario EJ27N Student Nylon Classical Guitar Strings, Normal Tension This guitar is UKULELE SIZED. It is NOT a full sized guitar. It is appropriately sized for a toddler. This guitar is not a REAL guitar. The frets don't really work to raise/lower the pitch. It is for a child exploring their initial interest in guitars. You can use an app on your phone to tune the guitar to a chord and then don't worry about it anymore. FOR THE PRICE This item is as expected and completely deserves a 5. You get what you pay for. I honestly can't believe anyone would spend so little on a musical instrument and expect it to be a "real" instrument. First Act makes a "real", junior-sized guitar for around $30, and an introductory full-sized guitar for around $50. Look elsewhere if you have a student looking to learn the guitar for real. Look here for a musical toy you won't feel bad giving to a 2-year-old.
