The skirt fits as expected. I usually wear S-M in skirts/shorts/pants. I bought this one in S and it fit perfectly. I got mine in coral, with the wider waist band. One thing to keep in mind, the color was a little different than pictures. The coral in the picture looks way brighter. The actual skirt was a little lighter. Although, I didn't mind - I still found the color to be beautiful. I also love the material. It looks very sturdy and it's one of those materials that doesn't wrinkle easily - which is always a plus in my opinion. I loved it so much, I actually wouldn't mind buying more in different colors.
