Simple, Unobstrusive, Works. (But can be loud)
I have an old house that holds water worse than a paper bag. We get down to 10-15% sometimes, and I have guitars that need 40% for survival. So, this is important. Most of these units are ugly, huge and mean looking. This is a very basic plastic shell, but looks more like an IKEA garbage can than a humidifier. (I'd call it the "WåsserBüskit") Fill it with a 5 gallon bucket and add a capful of the humidifier antibacterial stuff. Really, don't mess with mold. Just suck it up and buy the cleaner solution and the thing will stay clean as a whistle. I'm filling it up every day, so it can move some H20 - I bet your house isn't as old, leaky and spiteful as mine is, so one fill may last days in your place. Three things to know: 1. It's not tank-built. Basic plastic. Just be gentle and it feels like it'll last a long time. Be mindful on the float/switch. 2. If you overfill, which is easy enough to do, it'll shoot water out of a little hole on the back, and you probably won't figure out whats going on until you have a mess on your hands. No bueno. 3. Check the video for noise levels. The high level pumps out some serious dihydrogen monoxide (water people). So, it sounds like a loud, obnoxious fan. But the sound is the air moving mostly - the unit itself isn't adding to the problem. The middle setting is bizarre - there's a resonant hum that's annoying to me, so I don't use that setting. On the low setting, it's whisper quiet. Like when your spouse comes home and tells you she dented the fender on your new Chevy Tahoe but whispers it so quietly there's no way you'd actually hear- but she can still claim "I told you about it yesterday". It's that quiet. Ok, so that's my review. It's a good product. I recommend.
