Great unit, love the look, minor gripes
Our old door bell stopped working or sometimes would ring 15 minutes after someone pressed the button. I did some searching and read reviews and took the chance with this one. I chose the 2 receiver units with one transmitter, purchased 2 sets, one for the front door and one for the side door. Having 2 receivers allowed me to place them in multiple areas of the house so if I'm on the 3rd floor, I could hear it, etc. I have a split level house. Side door is in the "basement" and the front door is on the 1st ground floor. Bedrooms are on the second floor and our 3rd floor is another finished living space. It is loud and has 4 volume settings, probably could of gotten away with just one receiver, but I wanted to make sure I had coverage and having a backup that's coded to the receiver is a peach of mind. Placing the receiver in the middle of the house on the 1st floor, I could hear it everywhere. Distance, I have about 80-90 feet from the transmitter to the receiver thru brick exterior wall and up a level. Chimes without problems. Very simplistic, plug it in and hang the transmitter. I like the clean look with the blue indicator light Some things you should be aware (which is why I only gave it 4 stars) 3 prong, doesn't allow you to rotate the receiver i.e. have one on the bottom of an outlet, the other on the top. You have to press the tunes button 50 times to cycle, wish there was a way to go backwards * If you loose power, it resets to the first chime which doesn't help when you have 2 of these, wish it had a battery backup Wish the plug design allowed for another plug to be used in the same outlet. If they only made it a bit smaller on the top. Expensive, compared to other doorbells, but I was willing to spend the extra for one that works consistently. $45 per set ($90 for the 2 is what I was able to purchase it for, 3 days ago). It was on sale, now the price jumped to $60 each at the time of this posting. I probably would not of spent $60 per set. On the loudest setting, a lot of the tones were distorted Wish the 2 transmitter, one receiver unit allowed for 2 separate tunes, that would of been the ideal combination. On the box it appears that there's an option for 2 transmitters and 2 receivers also, but I didn't see this as an option on Amazon. Packaging was very simple, no paper instructions, instructions where on the box. (I've posted pictures). Also note, no instructions regarding using the screws to mount the transmitter (you need to remove the circuit board, 2 screws, not a big deal). Hope this helps.
