It's the King, is it worth $1000? Easily Yes!!!!
This is an amazing machine, we have both the Cat and Dog canister and the upright, the canister is King, the upright is very good but the canister is the best of the best. I know reading these reviews it can seem silly what these people say about this Vacuum and attachments but we have 3 hounds and I have allergies and this vacuum was a life changer for us. We did 3 things in our house to get me off the allergie pills, we have pure virgin rubber carpet pads under all the carpets now, they do not absorb anything plus they are very comfortable. 2nd we upped the house HVAC filter to higher quality 3m filters and change them about every 6 months and last but most important was finally getting away from the Dyson's, Kenmore's and Electrolux vacuums; got the Miele and that was a quality of life change for us. We vacuum about every other day now (more often now I hated the Dyson) and everyone seems happy to do it now, nobody in the house minds using the Miele. The dogs love how quiet it is, they don't even get up anymore I have to ask them to move. The house smells clean and fresh after vacuuming unlike with the Dyson and others when my allergies would go nuts afterwards from the dog dander. I can stick my old tired face right in front of the exhaust vent of the Miele and it is clean as can be. Is it expensive, not really, I saved so much on doctor visits and medication now it's wash on the first year. You want to clean your house? This will do it and make your life a little easier, it's just that simple. You know it's funny, the wealthier people will buy the more expensive Vacuum like this and enjoy it's benefits for a long time before servicing it. The poorer people like me will splurge on $300, $400 or a $500 vacuum that lasts a couple years is a pain in the ass to use and only works only so so and throw it away and get a new $400 vacuum again. Skip the second step and just try the damn thing, it's money well spent. You can sell it if you don't like it, even on Craigs list they hold their value. I can't see cleaning our house without it. We are not clean freaks but you'll have to pry the Miele out of our cold dead hands, it is one of the few things in life that actually does exactly what they say it does.
