Quick Reaction - Will Update Over Time
To give a little context, I once had a Herman Miller Aeron chair - it was great until it started falling a part bit by bit which began after about 2 years. I was shocked considering the cost. Then went to a higher end IKEA chair - for the price, I could buy a new one every year for 5 years and still save money compared to the Herman Miller (and I did not need to buy one every year, have run closer to every 2.5-3 years). Time had come for the replacement, and figured I should revisit the market to see if something better existed. This chair caught my eye and based on the feature set, the cost, the review from a consumer review site I trust a lot, etc. so I bought it.
Also, I am around 6’ 1” and 230 lbs.
Initial comments:
+ Arrived in a sturdy box, everything well wrapped and protected
+ Needed Allen head wrench and screws clearly visible with an extra provided of each screw (minor but appreciated in case something goes wrong)
+ For “picture” based instructions, clear and easily understood - a bit small, to make everything fit one page (two sided) but acceptable
+ Took 15 minutes to put it together
+ Everything works as it was/is supposed to (and smoothly so)
-/+ The arm pads have a LITTLE cushion so not overly comfortable (but this is also only a $200 chair); however, the arms can be easily removed (if I decide I don’t like them) without compromising the integrity of the chair or it’s look (which doesn’t really matter in a virtual office, but might in other circumstances)
Right now, the seat is feeling pretty comfortable, but clearly need some time in it before I can provide a real judgement on it. Therefore, I will update this review in the future.
Hopes this helps and provides insight to things you may have wanted to know.
