I was really disappointed at first with this product since we could not get the crayons to melt without running it 3 or four times and it would clump up and never fill the mold since the crayon was not fully melted. Thank goodness I found a post on target saying that it was not in the instructions but the metal tray must be push in until 2 clicks are heard. In the front of the metal tray where there are 2 prongs that tray sits in the grooves of the black plastic you must push them into the groove until you hear a click on each side. When you do this the plate makes full contact with the heating elements and melts the crayons fully. It also prevents the tray from moving and falling off the track which was also a problem I had. Hope this helps everyone!!
