If you can't read directions, don't buy stuff.
Before I bought this set on Amazon, I read through ALL of the reviews so I could get a gauge on whether this was a good product. For anyone else wanting to buy these, I recommend you reading the negative reviews. The people who left those did not do one thing. They did not read the instructions. I don't own non-stick pans, I own cast iron pans exclusively. I know about seasoning a pan. #1. These pans are GREAT.....if you season them. When you season the pan, do it on a med-low temperature. DO NOT PUT THE OIL IN THE PAN UNTIL IT IS HOT. When it is hot take a paper towel and generously apply the oil to all inside areas of the pan. Leave it for 5 minutes. That's it, period. #2. When you wash these pans do it by hand, use as little soap as possible, and DOT NOT USE AN ABRASIVE BRUSH OR SPONGE. If you seasoned your pans you should be able to clean them with hot water and no soap and everything will just rinse off. I personally cooked burger patties in this, left the burned areas and fat in the pan for 24 hours, turned on the hot water and didn't even have to use a brush. #3. If you want the pans to last longer: Don't use soap (it washes off the patina, i.e. seasoning) If you absolutely cannot live without using soap, then season your pans before you use them once a week. #4. Do not use metal flat ware or cooking utensils and do not stack these pans. They will scratch. #5. The high heat setting just isn't necessary for these. #6. Hot pan, Cold oil. If you have never heard this rule before, it can change the way you cook. Never put oil in a pan until it is hot. ANY pan on earth will be ruined by putting oil in the pan at the same time, or before you turn on the heat. Allowing the oil to heat up with the pan is just a cooking no no. If you take the time to keep proper care of these, they will be the best pans you have ever owned and you won't need to use excess oil or any oil at all. All of the above rules apply to cast iron pans so it's not rocket science.
