Good quality, easy to assemble, and puts out the heat!
I have a friend who once told me that you end up using what you have because you already have it. That's very true with the old BBQ I suffered with for many, many years. This time, on what would've been it dozenth burner and universal fit grill replacement, I decided it was high time for a new Q. Flames were shooting two feet high on one side because yet AGAIN, the burner rusted out, and this time, I went Amazon browsing. Why did I wait so long to buy this new Q? The cast iron grill is about 18 x 16 inches, just right for the two of us. I can still cook eight or ten hamburger patties if we have people over. The cast grill is very even heat, so no raw meat in one corner, a charred briquette on the other like the wire grill on the old BBQ. (Which rusted up every six months) Everything below the grill is stainless steel, the burner tubes, the burner shields, and related parts. I doubt I will be seeing rust anytime soon on this barbecue. Lighting is instant with a push of the lighter button. I was expecting a snap type Piezoelectric lighter, but this one uses a AAA battery that machine-gun snaps while you hold the button, and when you hear the whoomp of the burners, you just let go of it. The top has an inner layer of metal, (heat shield) so if you accidentally lay a hand on it, you won't get an instant 2nd degree burn. That's a big plus. I was surprised at how easy it went together. I had tools ready, but needed nothing else other than just a #2 Phillips. Nut-serts are used in most places, and everything lines up correctly. No half-moon holes like a certain brand of flat-pack furniture always seems to be when assembling. The hardware is on a piece of cardboard with blister packing, and everything is labeled. Where you need four screws in a certain step, you will find four of those screws in a blister pod. Need eight? There's eight in their pod, so no losing parts before they're needed, you just cut open the one you need at a time.
