..just make sure this is the pot you want to keep your plant in forever. You cannot transplant because the roots grow into the fabric and doing so would likely kill the plant. However, I have noticed plants in normal pots don't do as well vs the Smart Pot. 09-10-2015 UPDATE: I ended up throwing all my pots away after a few years of use and replaced them with buckets from Home Depot. While it is true they did make a difference in growth, the pots were not absorbing like they first did and the poor roots were growing into the fabric. I probably wouldn't recommend these again..
