I got this because we have older cars and frequently get the check engine light. Our house is mostly ios devices so i looked for a WiFi one. First off don't follow the recommendations, the OBD app they recommend is garbage. It wouldn't read my codes and had barely any protocol compatibility. So i went in search of another free app. I tried many of the free OBD apps on the ios app store until i found a great one. I know this review is supposed to be about the product but i was going to leave an awful review until i found this app. It is called EOBD-Facile. I think it is a European app or something, but it is free and supports a TON of protocols. Plus all you have to do is plug in your year and make and it knows what to use. I was able to successfully pull my codes for my check engine light and it turned out to be a simple spark plug issue. The device itself you just plug into your OBD interface and it gets power and advertised its WiFi which you join with your phone or iPad. It feels solid and works as advertised. I would give it a five if they had a better app and instructions.
