I read all the reviews on this mat and virtually all of them said the same thing; there is a coating from the the manufacturing process that needs to be removed so the mat is not slippery with moisture. While it is admirable and poetic to try and do everything "green", sometimes we are faced with cold hard reality. If you purchase this mat, cut to the chase and use a cleaner to initially remove coating on this mat. I used Super Clean to wipe down my new mat and have NEVER had slip issues with this mat and use it daily. Love the mat! I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I believe Manduka could rectify this issue by removing the coating themselves prior to selling them and save face on the whole matter.
