Despite some of the mixed reviews so far the umbrella has performed admirably and has never failed me. I've been caught in the rain many times and it opens and retracts effortlessly with a push of the button and is very simple to operate. The main reason I bought the umbrella was because it was small and compact and would be placed in the outer pocket of my book bag to which it fits perfectly. I am never without it when going to class and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a small everyday umbrella.
