DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ V3.0 Drone!! More Fun than a Nympho Victoria's Secret Model!!
I purchased the DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ V3.0 drone after months of research, preparation and study. I was concerned with the "fly away" issues I read about as well as the fragile nature of the Vision+ 14 megapixel camera and 3-axis gimbal. In preparation I purchased various toy drones with controls that mimicked the transmitter controls of the Phantom and learned about the issues of wind, turning and moving the drone through the air. Finally, after reading about the upcoming Version 3 model of the Phantom with its upgraded motors, remote transmitter, and most importantly, its improved compass with extra shielding from interference, I purchased my very own. Mine came in a bundle with extra battery and a very nice $50 32GB Sandisk Ultra Micro SD card and card reader for a bonus. The high speed write of the SD card and capacity sure beat the heck out of the OEM 4GB standard card included with the Phantom. After a couple weeks of ownership and a trip to Cozumel, Mexico, I'm prepared to declare this the most fun outside of coked up, Vicotoria Secret Model with a Nymphomania diagnosis!
WoW!! Once you've practiced with a toy drone, getting the Phantom 2 Vision+ up in the air is a Joy!! Much easier to control and fly with its GPS locked and the FPV camera guiding you along your flight. Its very powerful and was able to easily handle the 25mph wind gusts of the Cozumel beach after a powerful storm had moved through the Yucatan. The new motors are supposed to provide a 800% increase in power over the old Phantom 2 Vision+, so, be aware of what your purchasing before you buy and make sure your getting the Version 3.0 model. I bought a carbon fiber camera guard and inertial guard for the camer's gimbal unit from uavbits.com to help protect the fragile camera. I also always "hand catch" my Phantom instead of landing it on the ground to help avoid any damage to the camera. It is a fragile looking piece of hardware, however, again,,, even in 25 mph wind gusts which would rock the drone in the air,, the video is butter smooth.... I love the ability to capture 14 megapixel images in RAW format for editing on Photoshop and the results are spectacular!! The video is not quite as sharp as what I've seen from GoPro cameras, but, the seemless control of the camera and Phantom using your Smartphone and the DJI Vision app are much more appreciated than the slight improvement in video quality without the benefit of the Vision+ features. I took it with me to the ruins of San Gervasio, a Mayan ruin on the island of Cozumel, and again enjoyed the ability to capture unique and beautiful aerial photographs and video. If you always follow instructions and never fly unless you have calibrated the compass before each flight, only fly when you have a GPS "LOCK",, and never fly near trees and objects that could interfere with the propellers, I can't imagine having any of the problems I've read about from past Phantom 2 Vision+ owners regarding "fly aways"... The compass upgrade is intended to help prevent any radio interference from affecting the GPS lock and the new 3.08 software now enables the Phantom 2 Vision+ to have "Dynamic Home" functionality. (It locks on your Smartphone's GPS and returns to your position instead of the location where you launched the Phantom. Good for flying from a boat or other moving object) The new upgraded remote transmitter now has an internal battery and LED's that show its current battery level as well as a "camera wheel" that makes it much more convenient to pan the 14 megapixel camera from a bird's eye view to a 90 degree ground view. This allows for some professional looking video effects and photography. Software upgrades are simple and easily done by downloading the DJI software to your computer and plugging up your Phantom via the included USB cable. Be sure to download the latest version from the DJI website after you buy and upgrade before you fly. Future software upgrades are promised to give the Phantom a "follow me" ability and other features of importance.
If you respect this drone,, always calibrate your compass before flying,,, NEVER wait until the battery is almost depleted before bringing it back to you and landing,, Never fly close to trees, buildings, power lines, or other obstructions that could come in contact with the Phantom's propellers,,, I can't imagine anything short of a wonderful, fun, and exciting photography experience each and every flight. My Phantom 2 Vision+ V3.0 was a Rock Star in Cozumel, Mexico!! Check out a few of the photographs I've attached for consideration of what you can do with it on a cool vacation. If you love photography and can't bring yourself to pay the $3k for the even cooler "DJI Inspire I" with its 4K camera,,, BUY THIS DRONE!!!!!! You won't be sorry,, but,, you may lose interest in hanging out with Victoria Secrets Models......
