It's better than the FOREO Luna
Update: as of 12/2018 the Mio is still going strong and I still use it twice a day! I charge it about once every six months and the battery doesn’t seem to be diminishing
I bought this and the FOREO Luna Mini ($140) to compare and I actually like the Mio better, despite costing $100 less!
First off, they are both amazing and they have transformed my skin! I have never in my life had such well-exfoliated skin. And I compared this kind of exfoliator to the oscillating brush type, and this is much more gentle and yet still quite effective. Plus you never have to buy replacement heads for it, and the silicone supposedly discourages bacteria growth. I highly recommend purchasing a silicone exfoliator, and I don't think that the FOREO Luna Mini is worth $100 more than the SOLO Mio. They both basically do the same thing. Here's are some pro's for each:
Pro's of the SOLO Mio ($40)
*Has more speeds (at least 4) than the Luna Mini (only 2) (CORRECTION: the MIO has 14 speeds, not 4)
*Has a greater surface area of "scrubbers"
*Has as a sharper angle to it to help reach narrow places like the sides of the nose.
*Has a silicone stopper that covers up the charging port when not in use while the Luna Mini does not.
Pro's of the FOREO Luna Mini ($140)
*Is slightly more quiet and vibrates less in the hand (this is still very minor)
*Is made of a more opaque silicone that looks a little more high-end (the SOLO Mio is a little transparent)
*The symmetrical shape is more appealing (in my opinion at least)
*Has a 2-year warranty like the SOLO Mio, but also offers 50% off a replacement product for 10 years after the end of the warranty.
Overall, for me, I think the folks that made the SOLO Mio actually improved upon the FOREO Luna Mini in several ways. Even if they were the same price, I will still buy the SOLO Mio. For me the larger surface area makes the difference. My mom tried mine and loves it, so now she's buying one too!
As a side note: for some reason when I uploaded my pics they look very neon pink on here. The color of both the Luna and the Mio are pretty accurate in the pictures that the companies put out for the products.
