bye bye rotten duck smell
Where do I start? OH yea...the young man who lives in our home decided he would put a bunch of ducks, ready to be cooked, in the freezer of the motorhome and not tell us. The husband decided to unplug the motorhome for a couple of days while we were renovating the area in the yard where the RV goes. Have you ever smelled rotten ducks????? I swear on everything holy, my nose hairs burnt up and my eyebrows were singed from the smell of rotting duck carcass. After cleaning out the freezer with bleach while trying not to vomit, (and keep in mind, I'm a nurse...i've smelled some pretty funky stuff) I walk away feeling pretty confident in my cleaning skills. I leave a box of baking soda in there, just for good measure.
One week later I open the freezer to do my weekly inspection of everything that doesn't get used on a daily basis...and sweet baby Jesus!!! The smell coming from the freezer has now permeated the fridge....gag...I clean it with bleach again, making sure to spray the cracks along the back and sides. Walked away a little less confident than the first time but hopeful.
3 days later I open the freezer...you guessed it...gag...so I scroll through amazon researching "freezer stinks" and NonScents Refrigerator Deoderizer pops up....well, lets try that.
Goodness...the smell of death has left the freezer!!!! I put my whole head in there and sniffed around to make sure. Then I made the young man child who started all this come take a big sniff too...all good. After 2 weeks of having this in the freezer there is no trace of funky duck left!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Now, I wonder if this stuff would work on the young man childs' shoes?
