UPDATE April 2022: outstanding seller, made sure I am happy with the product! Sent a replacement!! UPDATE April 2022 - iron won’t close anymore and is now useless :-( UPDATE January 2022: the mechanism that holds it closed for travel has broken, and sometimes makes the iron get stuck open, making it cumbersome to use. I may need to get a different iron. Is 2+ years a good lifecycle? UPDATE May 2021: I’m still loving my flat iron! It gets frequent use, both for flattening and curling. It works exactly as it did the first day, and I’m very satisfied with the quality. I’ve also gotten better at handling it so I don’t have to use the glove (I usually use 375 setting). Highly recommended! Original: Overall I am satisfied with this flat iron. I’ve used a flat iron to curl my hair for years, and this model makes achieving the curls even easier. If you like that beach curl/wave look (as opposed to perfect cylindrical curls), this is a great tool for that look. Plusses: -makes easy great curls, in addition to smoothing/flattening -heats up quickly -the slider button that locks the iron “closed”is great for travel -swivel cord works great -nice smooth plates A couple of minuses: -this iron is hotter to handle than the previous irons I’ve owned. The glove is a must to use, as the heat transfer around the tip makes it too easy to burn yourself! (She says from experience!) -I can’t get the temperature to 355. The dial will stop at 340, and 375. 355 will flash between 355 and 340 but won’t hold 355 at all. All in all this iron performs well and gives great results. Just be sure to use the glove!
